That was probably one of my most favorite lines from General Conference this week. That was so funny!!!!!! My goodness! I am so happy we are more important than a tree!
“In nature, trees that grow up in a windy environment become stronger. As winds whip around a young sapling, forces inside the tree do two things. First, they stimulate the roots to grow faster and spread farther. Second, the forces in the tree start creating cell structures that actually make the trunk and branches thicker and more flexible to the pressure of the wind. These stronger roots and branches protect the tree from winds that are sure to return.
You are infinitely more precious to God than a tree. You are His son or His daughter. He made your spirit strong and capable of being resilient to the whirlwinds of life. The whirlwinds in your youth, like the wind against a young tree, can increase your spiritual strength, preparing you for the years ahead.
How do you prepare for your whirlwinds? “Remember … it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, … his shafts in the whirlwind, … when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power … to drag you down … because of the rock upon which ye are built.” This is your safety in the whirlwind.” Elder Neil L. Andersen
This week was really great. We had transfers this week so I now have Sister Helzer (she and I were in Dresden together for a while) as a new companion. She is so great!!
We have just been having so many great things happen. Mostly because it is the best season of the year…SPRING. I know I talk about spring in every email but it is just so perfect and I love it so much!! It is weird because every day is so much different from the one before. Germany has totally bi-polar weather, but I kinda love it!!
We have the best ward here in Marzahn, and the best investigators too. We are meeting with some great people who really have the interest to come closer to Jesus Christ and are willing to be baptized to show how important it is to them and make this covenant with our Heavenly Father.
Nothing really funny or exciting happened this week I have pictures again; so in words, this email would be a lot longer than it looks, because pictures are worth 1,000 words :).
By the way, my watch tan line is coming back so that means summer is also coming! Then I get to acquire some crazy sister missionary tan lines too!!!
Here is my spiritual thought. I will leave it up to Elder Bednar. Enjoy! 🙂
Love you all. Have a good week.
